Examples of what your money could do: $20 one student kit, $45 - 10 buckets to keep water safe, $85 - 100 emergency health kits, $125 - a shelter kit for one family. CLICK HERETO GIVE NOW.On November 8, Ermalinda Quieros was with her daughter-in-law as she gave birth in the hallway of the overcrowded hospital in Ormoc, where staff was overwhelmed with Typhoon Haiyan patients.

When she returned home the next day, the house she had lived in for 13 years in Dona Maria was a heap of twisted rubble. “I just cried and cried. I felt absolutely hopeless with no place to stay,” she says.

Two weeks later, Ermalinda arrived home with an emergency shelter kit. CARE, with its local partner ACCORD, provided a shelter kit and two tarpaulins to 220 households in Dona Maria.

As they think of the future and the many challenges ahead, Ermalinda’s daughter-in law looks on, cradling the tiny baby born during the typhoon. Thanks to generous donations from people like you, as the rainy season continues, some of the most vulnerable families in the typhoon’s path will begin to have shelter.

“The people whose lives were shattered by Typhoon Haiyan are showing incredible resilience and we are providing them the tools to rebuild and recover. I have been thanked hundreds of times for our aid efforts since arriving in the Philippines,” says Suzanne Charest of CARE Canada.

All of the Humanitarian Coalition’s member agencies are on the ground in the Philippines, assisting survivors and helping them rebuild their communities. Your donation will allow them to carry out their life-saving work. Please give if you can.

Thank You.
